Jacksonville Developers User Group

-         Code has to be in either C# or VB.NET. No other languages are considered.

-         The code has to be written by you.

-         If you have adapted the code from somewhere, you have to cite the resource.

-         You will be given 7 minutes to show the code.

-         You cannot use any slides.

-         It is recommended (not mandatory) to keep the number of lines of code to 30.

-         Maximum of 6 participants would be chosen to demonstrate.

-         All the code pieces will be acknowledged on Jacksonville Code camp web site.

-         The deadline to submit your entry is August 25^th, 2006.

Prizes

-         The first 3 coolest pieces of code as determined by judges would be awarded.

-         We will also present an audience award for coolest code.

-         Each audience member will have a card to mark the coolest piece of code.

-         The audience members present will also have a chance to win a prize.

-     Every participant's entry gets 3000 Community Credit points. The winner gets 10000 Community Credit Points.

1^st Prize: Telerik rad controls single developer license. The r.a.d.controls Single Developer Subscription License is telerik’s most comprehensive license and it includes all 17 telerik ASP.NET components. The winner will also be entitled to a Gold Support package, free product updates and new product releases for a period of one year

2^nd Prize: Codesmith Professional Single User with Premium Support (Retail $499)

3^rd Prize: 2 Books on Microsoft Technologies

Judging Criteria

The “Cool Index” of code would be computed based on the following factors (not in any order of importance).

-         Purpose of Code

-         Usefulness

-         Creativity

-         Number of Lines

-         Presentation

-         Wow Factor

Judges

-         A panel of judges will be selected to evaluate the “Cool Index” of code.

-         The decision of judges would be final and binding.

Be present on August 26^th in coolest code session at 1:50 PM to demonstrate your code.
